Youth Work and Mental Health Care: 'Baby Boy' Film Screening

Updated: Jun 20, 2022

On the 1st of October, we had the chance to host a film screening and panel discussion regarding mental health and community action at Yale-NUS College in conjunction with Yale-NUS Compact.

‘Baby Boy' is a coming-of-age film that traces the ambitions of 17-year-old Zaki as he navigates his troubled family past, and now wrestles with his understanding of fatherhood when he learns that his ex-girlfriend is pregnant.

The post-film panel discussion was graced by Carrie Tan, Advisor to Nee Soon South, Dr Raksha Kartik, a clinical psychologist, Impart's very own Narash, who lent his community mental health care expertise, and Jessica Heng, the film's director. We are grateful to have learnt from their experiences working in community care and mental health, and excited for growth in Singapore's social impact sector!
